Common Questions

QHow many access points do we need?

Depends on facility size, construction (drywall vs concrete vs metal), device density, and required performance. As a very rough estimate: typical offices need an AP per 1500-2500 sq ft for good coverage. High-density areas (conference rooms, classrooms) often need APs per room. Site survey gives exact numbers.

QWhy can’t we just use a few consumer routers?

Consumer routers can’t be centrally managed, don’t support seamless roaming, have limited capacity for simultaneous devices, and weren’t designed for business use. The result is dead zones, dropped connections, and slow speeds when several people connect at once. Enterprise gear solves all of this.

QDo you support both Ubiquiti and Cisco Meraki?

Yes. Ubiquiti UniFi is excellent for most small and medium businesses — strong feature set without monthly licensing fees. Cisco Meraki is great for businesses that want cloud-managed gear with vendor support and don’t mind annual licensing costs. We help you choose based on your IT support model and budget.

QCan wireless extend to outdoor areas?

Yes. Outdoor-rated access points cover parking lots, outdoor work areas, courtyards, storage yards. Range varies — typical outdoor AP covers 200-500 feet depending on terrain. For longer distances or building-to-building, we use wireless bridges like Ubiquiti NanoBeam or Cisco point-to-point gear.

QDo you support guest portals with sign-in?

Yes — captive portal pages where guests enter info or accept terms before getting Wi-Fi access. Useful for retail, restaurants, waiting rooms. Can collect emails for marketing (with proper consent), enforce time limits, and isolate guest traffic from your internal network.
